Cabin in the woods

Thought I had better add a few pictures of the cabin again.  It is all but complete.  I think I will let the little girls get involved with the rest of the completion. We still need to hang curtains and pictures, add dishes, etc. So, this is the front porch with a couple of porch chairs.  I want real peeled posts, but the ones we got were too large and unpeeled., so that is in the future.

This is a view of the kitchen set from the front door.  You can see the little lounge chair in the back.  It is hot pink while all of the kitchen stuff is pale pink, but it seemed better than to have it be black vinyl.

Not the best shot, but a picture of the table and two of the four chairs Sweet C refinished for use here.   We had had the chairs since our own kids were little, but they were mostly broken.  He made new seats of wood and they are stained to match the leaves in the wainscoting.

This is a shot of the kitchen set from the other side.  As you can see, there is a sink and dishwasher, stove with oven, refrigerator and microwave oven.  Still need flowers in a vase, the dishes, pots, pans etc put out,  And the food of course.  Oh, if you know where I can get silverware only for a kids kitchen please let me know.  I found some at K-Mart but only with a set of dishes, and I already have a nice set of dishes from Ikea.  I would also like some mixing bowls and a tea pot. (Have tea cups)

Now this is just a view of the back yard from one side to the other.  It is just so green and pretty right now.

This view is up the hill toward the deck.  Also very green right now.  Soon will be stressed from the heat so love it while you can I say.

This is one of the benches Sweet C made from scrap lumber left over from the deck and playhouse.

This is another.  They are similar, but not exactly matching, very sturdy and good looking, very earth friendly.

The next two are for Kip.  Since he hasn't seen the deck we built two years ago I thought he should see it.  The rest of you will remember it.  The lower portion, an octagon, I would like to plant trees to the southeast for shade and beauty.  If you remember, that is where the globe willow used to be.  The one that split three ways right after I came home from Vegas.  It had been damaged by lightning but lasted 7-8 more years?  I don't remember the exact amount of time. 

Last picture I promise.  This is the upper part of the deck from the lower part.  It is funny how hard it is to see things with the bright sunshine and shadow.  I could see the benches and the deck just fine, but the photos have too much contrast.  (expect more when the girls arrive)
